We Had Three Bags Full of woolly jumpers.

That is the catch cry of Rotarians who are organising a shipment of woolly Jumpers for orphans and vulnerable babies to countries throughout the world such as East Timor, Ethiopia and Aids Babies on the Continent of Africa.
Knitters from  as  far as Horsham. Elmhurst, Ross Bridge, Lake Bolac  as well as Ararat are all knitting baby jumpers dolls etc The project originated from knitting for  newborn Aids affected babies on the African Continent, where many are sent home from hospital wrapped in newspaper for warmth. Rotary have now expanded on this and are sending the articles through their Donations In Kind program throughout the world.

Wilma McAdie of Narcissus Flowers Flower shop has been received so many  knitted articles, to the extent she found  her shop was being taken over by Woolly Jumpers.  Rotary moved in, to get them on the way, to where they are needed with the help of the Rotary 9780 District Secretary Pat Robertson and District Governor Ric Robertson.
Trevor Webb President of the Rotary Club of Ararat wants every one to know that Rotary really appreciates what the knitters are doing for the vulnerable children. He encourages everyone to keep helping in this way.

Rotarian Cameron Whyte suggested people who would like to donate knitted garments or wool, preferably 8 ply, can leave them with Wilma at the Narcissus Flowers Shop,111 Barkly St, Ararat.
Rotary have 3 different knitting patterns and instructions available that have proven to work. Paul Burns Director of The Rotary Clubs Foundation committee has arranged for the three tried and tested patterns to be made available from, Bakers Delight, Narcissus Flowers, Blue Cameo or any Rotarian in Ararat.
